The centre is open year round and because all classes are drop-in, practical poses are chosen that everyone can move into at their own pace and enjoy. There is no competition in class and people are encouraged to close their eyes and focus inward and to continually use the breath to keep the mind focused. This allows and encourages the body to relax into each pose. These classes are suitable for all levels because the nature of the poses themselves will limit the extent to how far and deeply your body will move into them.
Meditation is an integral part of yoga practice and I encourage all of you to spend some part of your day in quietness and silence. Meditation is available after most classes upon request. This guided meditation is suitable for beginners and comes from the Buddhist Vipassana tradition. This is an easy and gentle way to be introduced to sitting.
